Department of Computer Science
Syllabus

- Materials:
- General Goals:
- Most programming courses focus on solving problems on a single
system. They do not cover multiple machine solutions, other than
as targets of file transfer operations or data display. This
course attempts to fill that gap.
- To provide a level of understanding and confidence that will allow
the student to pursue Distributed Systems in greater depth in
other courses or on their own.
- Specific goals:
- To learn the concepts of Distributed Systems, the problems therein and
the major methodologies used in the implementation thereof.
- To become sufficiently knowledgable in Distributed Systems concepts,
as to be able to apply these concepts to problems that may benefit from a distributed solution.
